Well we survived our first full month of quarantine. There were a few adjustments, but we’re doing okay. I didn’t really know what to expect, I also didn’t expect to feel such an overwhelming sense of peace.

Don’t get me wrong – I do have bad days and my anxiety still rears its ugly head. But majority of the time, I feel okay. My marriage is good. Better than it’s been in a long time. I’m enjoying my girls. I mean we’re not rockstars at the remote learning thing. And I’m not winning the Pinterest Mom of the Year award anytime soon. Yet, I don’t feel stressed or flustered when things don’t go the way they should. And that is HUGE! I can truly say that I am enjoying every one of my T’s during this quarantine time, and my heart is full. I can’t tell you what my secret is, but my mama always told me, “Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth,” so I’mma credit God and say “Thank You Jesus for this blessing of peace and unity in my household.”

If there’s one thing this month has shown me, it’s that all my girls are growing so fast. TD3 is going through clothes faster than I can wash them. She’s got an enormous appetite and will for solid foods that her body isn’t quite ready for. As we plan TD2’s 7th birthday celebration, I’m reminded that she is no longer my baby. She’s getting bigger, stronger, smarter, and more opinionated everyday. TD1 is slowly starting to shed her childlike innocence as she ventures closer and closer to tween territory (somebody needs to tell her to stop because Mama ain’t ready!!)

Month 7 was good to T5, even in the midst of a national pandemic. In two days, TD2 will be 7, and as we enter this eighth month, TD3 is going to start new tricks as she tries to keep up with her older sisters. I’m excited to see what’s in store for us next month…ya know, besides remote learning, and virtual celebrations.
