Well that escalated quickly.

School’s going to be closed a little longer. We’re being told to shelter in place. It’s been a whirlwind week, with things changing by the minute.

This week was tough. All the TDs home from school. T-Daddy and I still had to work. And I know we were not alone. A lot of my friends were in the same boat, unless their kids are too young to be in school or they’re stay-at-home parents. But mostly, this week was an interruption to everyone’s routine.

We survived though. There was a lot of screen time. And snacks. And “whatever it will take for you to get out my face and just let me finish this thing I’m working on.” But we survived. And there’s always tomorrow. That’s been my motto for this week.

Another thing happened this week. I had a birthday. It kind of got overshadowed by the whole rearranging our lives thing. But I got breakfast in bed. And my favorite home cooked meal. And homemade gummies. And an attempt at baking me a homemade birthday cake. And my family agreed to do a TikTok video with me. (But then I got hooked on the app. It has been a hilarious and much needed distraction from life.) All things considered, it was a good birthday.

There’s a lot of uncertainty in the world right now and it is no doubt affecting T5 and changing how we do life. I thought having a third kid was a game changer. It’s like life said “Hold my root beer.” The one thing that I do know is that I am trusting God through it all and I am using this time to rest and reset as much as three kids will allow me.
